      What is the P-I-500?

The Marsden P-I-500 is a mild steel platform scale with multiple input and output options for more steamlined weighing, batching, filling and loading processes. The scale has optional analogue 4-20ma or 0-20ma outputs for process control applications. Outputs can include switching other devices on or off to assist with automatic filling and sequential batching.

How can this weighing scale streamline weighing processes?

Programmable software means the P-I-500 is an extremely versatile heavy duty weighing scale, capable of automating weighing, filling and loading tasks. This scale can be used for recording weight data, controlling other devices and storing vital weight and product information. Ultimately, it's designed to reduce human input, increase accuracy and process speed, and reduce costs/waste.

Recording weight data: Outputs are available for sending weight and product data from the scale to a PC/spreadsheet, to an external tally roll or label printer, external display or to the optional memory stick. Outputs can be date and time stamped.

The scale has 64k of internal memory, so data such as product information can be stored. This can then be printed or sent to a PC along with the weight information, meaning recording processes are quicker, easier and require less human involvement.

The data that needs to be recorded can be selected by the user, with the option to add a header - for example, location or company name - to print-outs too. Multiple weight readings can also be totalised and added to the output. The indicator can be connected to other bases, meaning weight readings can be displayed on one indicator from multiple sources.

Controlling other devices: The P-I-500 has embedded user selection, and can also be set up with timer events via the outputs. This makes it the perfect scale for sequential batching. For example, the scale can be used, via the relay outputs, to control the feed of a product, switching off the feed when a pre-inputted weight target is reached. A second output can then control the feed from the next source, again filling to a pre-inputted weight target.

User-specific functions: With a swipe card or barcode reader interface, multiple users can access the indicator to use different weighing features. Text can be inputted into the scale for fast access to individual product information - either using the standard keyboard or, for even more convenient text inputting, the optional QWERTY keyboard. The swipe card functionality can be set up for multiple purposes - please contact us for more information or if you have a particular functionality request.

What are the benefits of a platform scale?

The platform itself is mild steel. With a heavy duty durbar surface, it’s perfect for weighing pallets, roll cages and dolavs in particular. There is a choice of capacities, graduations and base sizes, although a bespoke base size can be created based on your needs or specification.

Items can be loaded onto the platform scale using a fork truck, or by pallet truck by choosing the optional ramps.

Why should I choose the P-I-500?

This multi-functional scale can suit almost any application, whether you are check weighing, batch weighing, sequential weighing, filling and loading or if you need a tailor made solution for vehicle weighing or recipe formulation in food factories and processing plants.

Please note: Where a price is based on the weight of a product, the weighing scale used, by law, must be Trade Approved. The P-I-500 is supplied as a non approved platform scale as standard - please contact us for a quote if you need the scale to be legal for trade use.
