      What is the HSS-I-500 Bench Scale?

      The Marsden HSS-I-500 is a washdown stainless steel bench scale with multiple input and output options to help you streamline check weighing, batching, filling, recipe formulation and loading processes. This scale can be built to your requirements with bespoke software, and also has optional analogue 4-20ma or 0-20ma outputs for process control applications.

      How does this scale streamline weighing processes?

      The HSS-I-500 Bench Scale has been built with convenience in mind. It’s designed to make your weighing processes faster, more accurate and require less human control - saving you time and money.

      This scale’s I-500 indicator is fully programmable and can be built to your requirements. For example, the scale can be used to switch devices on or off when target weights are reached - perfect for auto filling and sequential batching applications.

      The embedded user selection means different users can have access to different features. Timer events can also be set up, making this an ideal scale for sequential batching. For example, the scale can be used, via the relay outputs, to control the feed of a product, switching off the feed when a pre-inputted weight target is reached. A second output can then control the feed from the next source, again filling to a pre-inputted weight target.

      The indicator’s 64k of internal memory allows you to store product types and weights, which helps with making weighing processes faster but also makes recording weight readings easier. Indicator outputs can be used for sending weight data from the scale to a tally roll/sticky label printer, PC or remote display. The user can define the data they wish to send via the outputs, including gross weight, net weight, tare weight, plus add a header if they wish (for example, company name or location). Additionally, multiple weight readings can be totalised and then added to the output.

      Information can be entered into the scale using the keypad, or the optional QWERTY keyboard.

      A swipe card or barcode reader interface can be used to perform different functions - for example, switching the scale on.

      What are the benefits of a stainless steel scale?

      Stainless steel weighing scales are more durable than mild steel scales, with stainless steel being far less prone to corrosion. This means you can use this bench scale in more challenging environments.The indicator and base of this scale are both stainless steel; the base is 304 food grade stainless steel.

      The loadcells in the base of this scale are IP67-certified, but are encapsulated for further protection. Encapsulation means that the base of the scale is effectively IP68 waterproof. This also means the base of the scale can be washed down to keep it clean.
