What is the M-300?
The Marsden M-300 is a Class III Approved portable baby scale. It is easy to use and highly accurate to 2g. The scale has Hold and Tare functions and boasts exceptional battery life, providing 600 hours of weighing from two AA batteries.
What is a Class III Approved scale?
Class III Approved scales are built, tested, verified and calibrated to meet a specific standard. The NAWI directive determines these standards - stating all scales ‘used in the determination of mass in the practice of medicine for the purpose of monitoring, diagnosis and medical treatment’ must be Class III Approved. Approved scales are subject to rigorous testing by an EU notified body, which provides assurance to the user of the scales that they are accurate and reliable.
Who uses the M-300?
When the highest possible accuracy is required when weighing babies, there are few that will use anything other than the M-300. Its 2g baby weighing accuracy means it’s a must-have for clinics and hospitals alike - particularly neonatal wards, breastfeeding support and baby clinics. Midwives buy this scale for its accuracy and its ergonomic design.
The 2g accuracy - not available from most Class III Approved baby scales - mean it's especially popular with lactation consultants. Find out more here.
Why should I choose the M-300?
Choose the M-300 if you need a baby scale that's as accurate as possible, easy to use and light enough to be portable.
The M-300 has several simple but very useful features. The Tare function allows unwanted weight to be removed from the scale, such as a towel or blanket. The Hold function means the weight reading will stabilise on the large, clear display, even after the baby is taken off the scale.
The scale runs on battery power - just two 1.5V AA batteries are required, and these will provide more than 600 hours of operation. An auto power-off function (which can be adjusted) saves battery power. An optional rucksack or carry case is available to enable easy transportation. This scale is covered by the Marsden 4 Year Warranty.
