What is the M-200W Chair Scale?

The Marsden M-200W is a Class III Approved, high capacity chair scale with extra wide seat, suitable for patients of all sizes. It comes with wireless connectivity to allow you to transfer data directly to a central database - meaning the M-200 is a future proof solution ideal for remote monitoring and telehealth initiatives.

    How do wireless scales work?

Marsden wireless scales are fitted with a Bluetooth or Wifi module. When the patient is seated on the scale and the weight reading stabilises, information is transmitted from the scale to another device.

Currently Marsden does not provide software for receiving data from wireless scales. However we can provide help and support if you are configuring your own software. Many establishments are aiming to become paperless, and in the UK the NHS has a paperless target. The M-200W would help achieve these aims, as weight readings for patients would no longer need to be written down.

Date, time and BMI information can be sent from the scale using Bluetooth or Wifi.

Should I choose Bluetooth or Wifi?

You can purchase Marsden wireless scales with either Bluetooth or Wifi connectivity. The option for you depends on your needs and location.

Wifi scales are ideal for hospitals because they are fast and secure. Many new hospitals are built with Wifi in mind.

Over long distances Wifi scales are more suitable, but for creating software and connecting it Bluetooth tends to be the easier option. Marsden Bluetooth scales have formed part of telehealth initiatives across the UK and Europe for many years; simple protocols mean that weight and BMI information can be sent quickly and easily to purpose-built capturing software.

Why should I choose the M-200W?

Choose the M-200W for weighing patients that cannot stand, with wireless connectivity to transfer information to a patient database. The M-200 is perfect for weighing all sizes of patients, including bariatrics patients, due to its high capacity and comfortable, extra wide, one-piece seat

The scale features our premium indicator, which has three displays - for weight, height and BMI. BMI is calculated by entering the patient’s height, which can be easily done using the full numeric keypad.

Hinged armrests and footrests are fitted to the chair scale for patient comfort and easy patient transfer. An optional handle is available to aid moving patients. An optional printer is available, too.

You can see Marsden’s Paul McCaig demonstrate the M-200 Chair Scale at Doncaster Royal Infirmary in the video above.
