What is the M-610W?
The Marsden M-610W is a wheelchair scale. It consists of an indicator, and two lightweight beams for fast and easy weighing of patients in wheelchairs. Bluetooth, Wifi or Micro USB connectivity means that patient weight information can be sent automatically to a PC. With fold up ramps and a portable carry case the scale is ideal for care home nurses or community health visitors. The scale weighs up to 300kg in 100g increments and has a rechargeable battery offering over 40 hours of continuous use.
How do wireless scales work?
Marsden wireless scales come with a Bluetooth or Wifi module. When the patient and the wheelchair are on the scale, the weight reading can be transmitted from the scale to another device.
Currently, Marsden doesn’t provide software for receiving data from wireless scales, however support and guidance can be provided if you are wanting to develop your own data capture software. Many telehealth providers in the UK and Europe use Marsden wireless scales.
Using Bluetooth or Wifi, the scale can send date, time and BMI data.
Should I choose Bluetooth or Wifi?
Whether your Marsden wireless scales should be ordered with Bluetooth or Wifi connectivity depends on your needs. Bluetooth and Wifi have their own benefits for the user.
Scales with Wifi are particularly popular in hospitals. It’s fast, secure and with many new hospitals built with Wifi in mind, set up is easy and connection to patient record systems is simple.
Wifi scales are more effective over long distances than Bluetooth, however creating software and connecting it to our Bluetooth scales tends to be easier. Marsden medical scales equipped with Bluetooth connectivity are used in telehealth initiatives internationally, where weight and BMI patient information can be sent to purpose-built capturing software or monitoring stations quickly and easily.

Why should I choose the M-610W?
Choose the M-610W if you wanting to weigh patients in wheelchairs and transfer their weight data to a patient database.
Theses wheelchair weigh beams are very easy to use. Each beam is lightweight and portable, with an in-built carry handle. There is a gentle incline on the ramps meaning pushing a wheelchair onto the scale is easy, and the ramp ends fold in so that the care home nurse or community health visitor can easily pack them into a smart, durable carry case (available separately).
The overall dimensions of the scale accommodate most designs of wheelchair.
The indicator of the M-610W has a full numeric keypad, meaning a patient’s BMI can be easily calculated simply by inputting their height. Weight, height and BMI display clearly on the two screens.
The scale has Tare and Preset Tare functions so that the weight of the wheelchair is deducted from the reading. The scale has a 300kg capacity and graduations to 100g.
