What is the UF-SS-I-100SS?
The Marsden UF-SS-I-100SS is a 304 food grade stainless steel U frame pallet scale and splashproof indicator. The U frame’s IP68 rating means it is waterproof and suitable for washdown environments. The indicator is IP65-rated. A wall bracket is supplied for mounting the indicator.
What are the benefits of waterproof portable scales?
Stainless steel U frames are ideal for chemical environments and food processing factories where scales need to be kept hygienic or are subject to moisture, water and dust.
The extra benefit of U frame scales over platform scales is portability. A U frame is much lighter and has a handle and wheels, so that it can be moved to where it is needed and stored away when not in use.
Additionally, U frame scales are compatible with most pallet trucks as the space between the U frame’s forks can accommodate a pallet truck laden with a pallet. The pallet is then simply lowered onto the U frame and the weight reading appears.
This 304 food grade stainless steel U frame is IP68 waterproof.
What does the scale’s IP rating mean?
The scale’s IP rating is its level of protection against water and dust. The first digit refers to the scale’s protection to dust and the second signifies protection against water and other liquids.
IP65 certification shows the scales are protected against moisture when wiped down with a damp cloth. IP67 rated scales are splashproof, protected against moisture and can be protected by being washed down. IP68 scales are fully waterproof for the most punishing environments.

Why should I choose the UF-SS-I-100SS?
Choose the UF-SS-I-100SS for accurate weighing in harsh environments, including food processing and chemical applications, when you need a portable scale compatible with your pallet trucks.
This U frame is designed for use with euro pallets. A number of capacity options are available up to 2000kg, and graduations up to an accuracy of 0.2kg - use the drop down menu below to choose the right spec for your needs.
The indicator has Counting, Zero, Tare and Preset Tare functions. It has a rechargeable battery pack meaning it doesn’t need to be near a mains supply; an AC adaptor is included. The indicator also benefits from a large, backlit display for clarity in poorly lit areas.
The scale is not recommended for liquid filling applications; we recommend the UF-SS-JIK for this purpose.
