What is the M-930?
The Marsden M-930 is a pit mounted bed scale, perfect for weighing bedridden patients or patients on trolleys as they enter a hospital. It’s Class III Approved and has a choice of capacities and graduations. It features Hold, Tare and BMI functions. An optional printer is available to have a printed copy of the patient’s weight. It is ideal for accident and emergency departments.
What are Class III Approved scales?
Class III Approved medical scales are legal for monitoring, diagnosis or treatment of patients. Non-approved medical scales must not be used for this purpose. Class III Approved weighing scales can be identified by an 'M' logo, usually found on the scale's data plate.
The Non-Automatic Weighing Instruments (NAWI) directive was made part of UK law in January 1993 and specifies the applications that require approved weighing scales. Only scales which use metric units are legal for controlled purposes.
Who uses the M-930?
The M-930 is perfect for hospital departments, such as A&E, where the weight of a patient in a bed or trolley needs to be taken quickly. The scale is designed to be set into the ground meaning it can be flush with the floor - no ramps are required.
Why should I choose the M-930?
Floor mounted weighing scales are designed to be sunk into the ground. This means a patient can be weighed in a bed or trolley as they are moved into the hospital building or ward. Tare/Preset Tare can be used to remove the weight of the bed from the reading and get an accurate weight reading for the patient. The M-930 comes with a pit frame for positioning and supporting the scale within a pre-prepared pit.
The M-930 has a choice of capacity and graduation options: either 600kg x 0.2kg or 1500kg x 0.5kg. A choice of dimensions are also available.
The scale has a Hold, BMI and Tare function. The Tare function enables the weight of a bed to be deducted, giving an accurate patient weight.
The indicator can be mounted or a column or a wall. By adding the optional printer, a copy of the patient’s weight can be filed without the risk of human error.
The M-930 is backed by the Marsden 4 Year Warranty - double the industry standard for medical scales.
