What does the IP rating mean?

The PT-450 is Marsden’s IP68 rated pallet truck scale. The IP rating refers to the scale’s protection against water and dust. The first digit (e.g. ‘6’) refers to protection against dust; the second digit (e.g. ‘8’) is protection against water and other liquids. IP65 scales are protected against moisture when they are wiped down with a damp cloth. IP67 rated scales are splashproof, protected against moisture and can be washed down. If a scale is IP68 rated, like the PT-450, it is fully waterproof and can still provide accurate weight readings in the most punishing environments.

The indicator is easy to use, with Tare, Gross and Zero functions. With 500g graduations and a 2000kg capacity (bespoke options are available) it’s the perfect scale for check weighing of heavy palletised goods. The display can also be switched to read in lbs.

The internal rechargeable battery will provide 40 hours of continuous use between charges, with a mains lead for charging safely stored away in a watertight compartment at the front of the scale. The scale will auto power-off after a set period (which can be defined by the user) to save battery power.
