Yes - weighing a pet on a familiar blanket or inside their carrier is a great way to keep them calm. If you're using cat scales for a nervous kitten or dog scales for puppies, place the empty carrier or blanket onto the scale and press 'Tare'.

The digital display will reset to zero. When you place your pet back onto the scale inside the carrier or on the blanket, the screen will display only your pet's true weight.

Precision is essential to animal health. A scale's graduation is the smallest increment it displays: the lower the graduation, the more precisely small changes can be tracked.
