A Class III Approved medical scale is a weighing scale that is legal for use in the process of monitoring, diagnosing or treating patients. Class III Approved medical scales are used by hospitals, pharmacies, GPs, health centres and midwives, and are a legal requirement in a medical context in all EU countries.
All Marsden Class III Approved scales are designed to deliver accuracy, reliability and repeatability in weighing. If you’re unsure if a scale is Class III Approved, look for the ‘III’ logo on the scale’s data plate.

Portable scales

Most popular
The Marsden M-560 Premium Scale is our most popular weighing scale for slimming groups, in fact, it’s used by more slimming groups in the UK than any other scale.
It has three displays, for weight, height and BMI. BMI can be calculated by entering the patient’s height using the full numeric keypad.
Metric and imperial
The M-560 is based on our Class III Approved M-510 Gym Scale, the difference being that the M-560 weighs in both metric and imperial, whereas legally, as a Class III Approved scale, the M-510 cannot.
Low cost
The Marsden M-150 Gym and Fitness Scale is a lower cost alternative to the M-560 and M-565. It is less portable, since the indicator is mounted on a column, but is supplied with a detachable height measure. It weighs in st/lg and kg/g, and has a bright, clear LED display.
The Marsden MBF-6000 and MBF-6010 are body composition scales. These are perfect if you want to provide slimming group members with more than just a weight reading. The MBF-6010 has a column on which you can mount the printer, and provide members with a print out of their results each week.
The MBF-6000 is the portable alternative. Without a column, it fits neatly into the optional carry case and provides, via the printer, the same body composition readings as the MBF-6010. Choose the kg/g version and these scales are Class III Approved.
All Marsden body composition scales are covered by the Marsden 4 Year Warranty. Each scale measures Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR), Total Body Water (TBW), Fat Free Mass (FFM), Fat Mass (FM), Body Fat %, Weight and BMI.
