What is the OCS-L?
The Marsden OCS-L is a lightweight, battery powered hanging / crane scale for simple suspension weighing. Capacities are available from 30kg to 300kg.
What are crane scales used for?
Crane scales like the OCS-L are widely used in food production plants and markets to weigh meat, fish and vegetables. High accuracy to 10g (on the 30kg version) also makes this digital scale ideal for post offices, freight company sorting offices and collection centres.
Weighing items by suspending them using a crane scale means you can save space, and crane scales as small and lightweight as the OCS-L are portable and easy to use and set up. This makes the OCS-L particularly popular for market stalls.
Crane weighing scales are also common when an item needs to be weighed as it is loaded onto a lorry, train or ship using a crane, since the weighing, moving and loading process can take place in one movement.
Why should I choose the OCS-L?
Choose the OCS-L if you need a highly accurate, highly portable small crane or hanging scale.
This aluminium crane scale weighs just 0.7kg. A choice of capacities are available from the drop down menu above.
Features include Tare (to remove unwanted weight) and Hold (to stabilise the weight reading on the bright LCD display). The weight display is clearly visible from distances and benefits from low power consumption resulting in a long battery life (over 120 hours’ continuous use) from 3 AA batteries.
These crane scales are superb value for money and come backed with a one year warranty. Call us on 01709 364296 or send us a message here.Learn More
What is the OCS-S1?
The OCS-S1 is a lightweight, high accuracy hanging / crane scale available in a range of capacities to suit different industries and needs. The scale is ultra lightweight and battery powered. A bright LED display means it is clearly visible from long distances and it can be operated via the infrared remote control.
What are the advantages of crane scale?
Crane scales have many advantages. You can weigh awkwardly shaped items, which platform scales may be suitable for. Crane scales also save on floor space and can be left in situ when not in use.
Potentially, time and labour costs can be saved by using crane scales. The OCS-S1 is lightweight and portable so that the scale can be taken to the item rather than vice versa.
Why should I choose the OCS-S1?
If you need an easy to use industrial crane scale with capacities available up to 1000kg, choose the OCS-S1.
This digital scale has an aluminium case and stainless steel shackle making it a highly robust solution for suspension weighing. The accuracy ranges from 50g to 500g.
The scale has a large bright red LED clearly visible from long distances. It can be operated via the infrared remote control (which comes as standard) meaning it can be used from a safe distance away.
OCS-S1 crane scale is powered by a rechargeable battery giving over 120 hours’ continuous use when fully charged. Auto power-off helps save battery power.
Hold, Tare and Zero features all come as standard, too - making this crane scale superb value for money.
To ensure continuous accuracy and reliability, the OCS-S1 can be backed by a Marsden service contract. To find out more speak to the Marsden team on 01709 364296 or send us a message here.Learn More
What is the OCS-X?

A capacity range from 1 tonne to 5 tonne makes it suitable for a wide variety of applications. It features a bright red LED display and an infrared remote control is provided as standard.
What are the advantages of a crane scale?
There are many advantages of crane scales. Awkwardly shaped items can be weighed when platform scales are unsuitable. They can save on floor space too, and can be left in situ when not in use.
Time and labour costs can be saved by using the OCS-X. Crane scales such as this one are lightweight and portable so that they can be taken to the item being weighed, rather than the other way around.
Why should I choose the OCS-X?
Choose the OCS-X if you need a crane scale suitable for a variety of applications, with a capacity to 5 tonne and accuracy ranging from 500g to 2kg. The OCS-X is our most popular crane scale.
The scale has a large bright red LED clearly visible from distances and benefits from a long life internal 6V/ah rechargeable battery (over 120 hours continuous use).
An infra red remote control comes as standard and enables easy operation at a safe distance from the scale.
Hold, Tare and Zero features come as standard and there is an easy to use digital calibration routine to ensure weighing accuracy. The OCS-X is robust, portable, accurate and superb value for money.

What is the OCS-Z?
The Marsden OCS-Z is an easy to use, high capacity digital crane scale for heavy duty suspension weighing. It can be ordered with a capacity of 10 or 20 tonnes, making it the highest -capacity crane scale available from Marsden. It boasts infra-red remote control operation and is powered by rechargeable battery providing over 120 hours of continuous use.
How do crane scales work?
Crane scales provide you with high capacity weighing without the need for taking up floor space with a platform scale. Awkwardly shaped items can be weighed, space can be saved and very large items can be weighed as they are loaded onto a ship, lorry or train.
A crane scale is very easy to use. The hook on the top of the scale is simply attached to your crane, and the item to be weighed is attached to the hook on the base of the crane scale.
The scale measures the amount of downward pressure from the item that is hanging from the scale. The scale will convert this force into a reading that is then displayed on the digital readout. The OCS-Z has a large, bright red LED display for seeing readings from distances, and is operated by remote control.

What is a crane scale?
A crane scale is a heavy duty scale used for suspension weighing of large, heavy items. Using crane scales means you can save floor space, and weigh awkwardly shaped items relatively easily. Crane scales are often used to weigh items to ensure they do not overload a crane or other lifting device as well as providing a weight for the item to the user.
What are the advantages of a crane scale?
High capacity weighing: Crane scales are available with very high capacities. For example, the Marsden OCS-Z Crane Scale is available with a capacity of 20000kg.
Awkwardly shaped items can be weighed: Sometimes, it is not possible to weigh an awkwardly-shaped item on a platform scale – it is easier to suspend the item to weigh it.
Floor space is saved: Platform scales are ideal for weighing large, heavy items – but they take up floor space. A crane scale does not. It can be left in situ when not in use, without being in the way of warehouse traffic like fork trucks and operatives.
Time and labour costs could be saved: Crane scales, particularly smaller, lightweight ones, are more portable than platform scales. Therefore it is easier to move scale to the item to be weighed rather than the other way around.
Time and labour costs could be saved: Crane scales, particularly smaller, lightweight ones, are more portable than platform scales. Therefore it is easier to move the scale to the item to be weighed rather than the other way around. Crane scales are battery operated and some come with a remote control for safe operation from a distance.
