Buyer's Guide: Scales for boxing clubs

In boxing clubs, keeping track of weight is crucial in reaching optimal performance and maintaining the desired weight class.

Marsden’s scales for boxing clubs are highly accurate and are used by boxing clubs throughout the UK.

But not all suitable scales for boxing clubs are the same. Each individual boxer is different and so is the need of each boxing club. We’ve put together this buyers’ guide to help you choose the right scale for your needs.

Lightweight and portable

If it’s an accurate scale that you can take wherever you need it, then a lightweight floor scale is for you.

The Marsden M-430 is a Class III Approved, portable floor scale which weighs just 3kg. A highly robust design and non-slip surface makes it ideal for gym and boxing club environments. An optional carry case is available to aid portability.

Alternatively, for boxing clubs who want to weigh in imperial as well as metric, the Marsden M-560 and Marsden M-565 weigh in lb and kg. The M-560 features a full numeric keypads so calculating BMI is easy. The M-565 is a new entry level scale, with a body surface area function which is unique to Marsden scales.

Permanent fixtures

The Marsden M-150 is a more permanent boxing club scale, with a fitted height measure for easy BMI calculations.

The M-150 has a high 300kg capacity and is unit switchable for weighing in pounds as well as kilos.

A complete picture of body health

Marsden’s range of body composition scales are closer to DEXA standards than scales by any other manufacturers that we tested. Boxers can find out all with a Marsden body composition scale with readings provided for Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR), Total Body Water (TBW), Fat Free Mass (FFM), Fat Mass (FM), Body Fat Percentage, Weight and BMI.

The Marsden MBF-6000 is a portable body composition scale with a carry case provided to aid transportation.

The Marsden MBF-6010 is a body composition column scale so acts as a more permanent fixture in boxing club premises. As the indicator is column mounted it can be easier to read and means the user does not need to bend down to operate the scale.
